STREET LIGHTING NAMIBIA
WINDHOEK | NAMIBIA
Namibia lies on the west coast of Southern Africa and is a land of incredible diversity and contrasts. RLS was awarded the opportunity to supply the lighting upgrades for the main roads in Namibia. The biggest cost in street lighting is energy consumption and maintenance which includes lamp replacements. Therefore, energy-efficient, reliable, long-life LED’s are rapidly superseding conventional light sources. Our Lumina and Istria were chosen for this application as they met all the required criteria. The fittings are energy efficient and the Stada range of lenses enabled us to modify the light distribution to suit the application.
LUMINA 124W:
The Lumina 124W LED was supplied to replace the old conventional 250W HPS. The fitting was mounted on existing double-curved poles on a median illuminating light on a Type A2 major road. It lights up both sides of the double lane road giving optimal light. The RLS360 lens was used in spreading light evenly from one pole to another.
ISTRIA 72W/48W/34W:
The Istria 72W LED was supplied to replace the old conventional 150W HPS. Our 48w LED replaced the100W HP and our 34W LED replaced the 70W HPS. The various wattages were supplied for Type A2, A3, A4 and Type B roads on existing single curved poles and straight poles.
RLS worked with Peter Le Riche from Pupkewitz Megatech.
