IGODA Projects selected RLS to be the preferred supplier for this turn-key project in the small town of Donnybrook. Donnybrook is a rural village that lies amid the green hills on Route 612 between Ixopo and Bulwer southwest of Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal. The solution chosen was a combination of conventional LED streetlights and solar lighting. The solar solution was to ensure that when the main power goes down, there is still some security lighting for the community.
The response from the community was overwhelmingly positive. Some community members say they now feel safe when commuting to work. Children now have the opportunity in the evening to play soccer and connect with their peers.
Regent Lighting Solutions supplied 57 x Istria 95W LED street lights and 11 x 54W Khanya solar lights on 9m poles.
