PAARDEVLEI CENTRE
SOMERSET WEST | WESTERN CAPE
Paardevlei Centre stands proudly in the heart of the Paardevlei precinct. This one-of-a-kind development breathes new life into industrial landmarks with cutting-edge retail design. Instead of replacing the past, the heritage was transformed into part of the shopping centre experience. Iconic buildings like the Timber Shed (1898), Locomotive Shed (1930), and Machine Shop (1944) have been thoughtfully preserved and repurposed, giving shoppers a glimpse into the site’s storied past. Authentic features like barn doors, gas lamp posts, and a 1909 fireless locomotive create a unique, immersive atmosphere that fuses character with convenience.
