CAPE TOWN | WESTERN CAPE
Curro Durbanville High School is an independent school in Durbanville with a high school phase that provides high-quality education for learners from Grade 8 to Grade 12. With state-of-the-art sports and academic facilities, this school stands out from the rest.
AUDITORIUM:
Shorter lengths of Linear Mini 50 were used in different areas around the building. Continuous lengths were used in the school hall as well as the Auditorium creating aesthetically pleasing architecture while lighting up the spaces as desired. Canolux 80 with special angled brackets had to be mounted on a sloped ceiling. Angled brackets were designed and manufactured to allow the lights to shine straight down. Because of the specialized properties of the Neosil LED strip light, it was utilized as cove lighting in the curved bulkhead in the Auditorium lobby. Linear 17x8.5 Cove was mounted on the Auditorium walls as feature lighting.
INTERIOR:
Luxon Round with opal diffuser is responsible for general area lighting creating good uniformity. Mira footlight was recessed into the steps. Nano is a flicker-free cost-effective yet efficient LED and is the perfect balance for classroom lighting. Ordered in black, it blends in perfectly with the surrounding modern architecture. Bespoke Strata shapes followed the same curved concept as the skylights. The Architect was able to create a perfect visual balance and we were able to manufacture the fitting exactly to their requirements.
EXTERIOR:
Argo post top on a modern step pole was used for the general area lighting, the modern-looking post top fits in well with the architectural background. Beam ceiling was chosen because of its bigger size and was utilized under the exterior passages.
