CENTREPOINT

QUATRE BORNES | MAURITIUS

RLS was approached by CentrePoint Development and Pamboukian LightDesign to assist with the design and supply of the lights for this project in Mauritius. The design included both light design as well as shop drawings for the bespoke lights required. The large central pendant required extensive design, both aesthetically and structurally. The contracted structural engineer approved the designs for the pendant as well as the external pole lights (designed for hurricane winds up to 300km/hour).

All the fittings had to be loaded onto containers and shipped to Mauritius, with detailed assembly instructions included. The main pendant in the central court consists of large aluminium channel rings from which Sudos pendants are suspended. This pendant required extensive structural engineering input due to its very large size and weight. In the shopping mall, the Linear 17x15 and Linear Mini were used extensively throughout.  In addition, the Starr, Elux, Maco, and Kibo downlights were installed throughout the mall. Venus fittings were installed on the internal columns and external columns, and Sudo pendant lights were also supplied. The Lugo is made of high-grade aluminium and is ideal for basement applications. The fittings in this project will be exposed to extremely corrosive conditions as the basements are not sealed. The Argo post top, Europa post top and poles, the Iris Urban Light Element, and the Shuttle accent lights were used in the landscape lighting.  All exterior lights are made of high-grade aluminium to withstand the very corrosive conditions in Mauritius.
