BoE Head Office site is a major point of convergence in the meeting of the V&A Waterfront with the City’s financial and IT hub on the Foreshore. Just as the Waterfront is extending infrastructure into the CBD, in the form of the Roggebaai Canal, so it was considered appropriate that the CBD manifest itself at the Waterfront in the form of BoE as a major City building. BoE at the Waterfront is a simple, repetitive, rational structure comprising plinth, colonnade and crown, adorned minimally at celebrated entrances and junctions - where modern, stripped-down, classical details act as carefully-calculated visual cues.
