RLS - thermTECH

Integrated Thermal Management Technology

A specialised thermal management component (NTC) Negative Temperature Coefficient that will send a signal to the LED driver to reduce the output current to the LED’s in the event that a predetermined temperature is exceeded. The NTC will reduce the current in order to reduce the heat.

WHAT IS NTC?

NTC : Negative Temperature Coefficient

The function of the NTC is to send a signal to the LED driver to reduce the output current to the LED’s. This is done when the temperature is too high. It will reduce the current therefore reducing the heat.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

A signal is sent to the LED Driver to reduce the output current only when a predetermined temperature is exceeded

i.e. > 110°C

If the Luminaire reaches the predetermine temperature, the NTC will be Activated.

Once the NTC is activated the luminaire will dramatically reduce the light output.

thermTECH - ambient temp point

There is a point on the PCB that measures the ambient temperature.
