RLS was approached by Pamboukian LightDesign and RWP Electrical Engineers to supply the lights for the Clearwater Mall Centre Court upgrade. The Large Inground Mites were used to highlight the main natural stone columns. As these were placed on the edge of a busy walkway glare control was very important. We designed a special internal cowl that reduced the glare. The Brite 130 and Brite 50 inground lights were used to highlight the small trees and plants. One of the main features of the space is a children’s play area. The design of the area included large rectangular sections of wooden columns. We designed and supplied acrylic lights which were attached to the top of these columns. The dimensions of these lights matched the cross-section dimensions of the columns in order for them to appear as a seamless extension of the columns. The 1st-floor balustrade is made of stainless steel sections with acrylic panel inserts. Each panel is backlit. We replaced the original fluorescent lights with bespoke LED strip lights. The LED strips were placed on the benches and planters too.
