KHOLWANI PRIMARY SCHOOL
SOWETO | GAUTENG
Kholwani Primary School in Soweto was the first recipient of a LED lighting system at the time of installation. RLS donated the Lugo 1500mm 35W LED light fitting which was installed in the classrooms at the school, providing 210W with an LED lifespan of over 50 000 hours. Having replaced all fluorescent light fittings with LED’s, a single classroom saved on average 1470W per day, based on seven hours of operation per day. This equated to an energy saving of 294kW per annum, assuming 40 weeks of school in a calendar year. The total monetary savings amounted to approximately R450 per classroom per year. Exterior fittings supplied were the Solo Bulkhead.
