Job Title: Store’s Clerk/Maintenance Durban
Location: Durban
Reports To: Regional Sales Manager
Job Purpose:
The person will be required to reconcile and manage the full stores function in the Durban branch and help with any other functions, like maintenance as required by the Regional Sales Manager
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Be responsible for the stock, the pulling of stock for orders, returns and GRVs.
- Ensure inter branch stock transfers are completed.
- Ensuring certain stock levels are kept, ensuring stock levels are appropriate to the turnover of the stock.
- Planning and organising stock and inventory
- Controlling costs and spending
- Accepting deliveries and shipping goods
- Safety and security
- Ensuring that correct paperwork is done and completed. Ensuring that the stock movements are captured and completed.
- Preparation, counting and reconciliation of stock takes
- Periodic and full stock takes to be done
- Housekeeping, keeping a clean and tidy store, correct packing of stock and ensure safety standards are kept
- Assisting staff and Manager
Maintenance
- Attend maintenance services off-site.
- Identify faults and problems, solving them with minimal down time.
- Carry out diagnosis of faults and do repairs of all lights.
- Operate equipment in a safe, timely and professional manner.
- Be courteous and polite to all persons whom you come in contact with, report to the site manager.
- Obey all rules and regulations on site, road rules, company rules and regulations when using the company vehicle or equipment.
- Estimate the length of time required to do the job, report back to management if it will be exceptionally long.
- If there are components which are needed but not on site then immediately report back to the manager/office.
- Escalate any activity that has the potential to cause harm to the team or equipment on site.
- Ensure all work is undertaken to the highest quality achievable.
- Good housekeeping – make sure the site is cleaned up to a better standard than when you arrived.
- Ensure that all PPE, components and consumables are taken with before going on a maintenance call.
- Report the root cause of the fault, components used, potential problems, possible solutions and any other information that is vital.
- Ensure minor and trivial accidents are reported.
- To learn and be aware of the latest technology.
- Safety is of utmost importance
Job Requirements
- Pastel experience, Pastel evolution experience is preferable or a similar package
- Stock Control, minimum 3 years’ experience, with a working knowledge of storekeeping practices and procedures.
- An electrical qualification for maintenance.
- Must be experienced in Excel
- Must have matric, preference will be given to persons who have done a course in stock control
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Must be hard working and team player
- Must be able to work independently
- Have a mature attitude towards work
